A previous pool company cheaped out on the hardscape, and it showed. We ripped it out and rebuilt the whole thing in travertine.

The Challenge
The pool was already in, but a low-end paver installer had left the hardscape failing around it. The upper deck across from the pool sat unusable, and the rest of the yard did nothing for the family or the dog.
What We Did
The signature move was refusing to let any part of the yard sit dead. The upper deck across from the pool, useless before, is the clearest case: we rebuilt it as a flagstone walkway wrapped in turf. And rather than patch the cheap pavers, we rebuilt the whole poolscape in travertine, so this time it actually lasts.
From Vision to Reality
Design
With the pool already set, the whole layout had to work around it. We planned the travertine runs, sized the upper-deck walkway, and carved the leftover space into a turf yard for the dog and a putting green.
Build
Demo started with pulling out the failing pavers the previous crew left. Then travertine went down across the poolscape, the flagstone walkway got set and wrapped in turf, and the side yard and putting green were turfed and shaped last.
Enjoy
Now the whole yard gets used. The kids launch off the walkway into the pool, the dog has clean turf to run on, there is a green to practice on, and the travertine will still hold up years from now.
