Scope of Work
The Challenge
Cindy's lot was big and sloped, with tired concrete covering both the front and the back. The hillside needed holding, and none of that worn concrete was the one-of-a-kind yard she was after.
What We Did
The signature move was making the ground itself the centerpiece. Instead of pouring another patio, we cut a checkerboard field from hexagon pavers with custom inlay, so the floor is the first thing that stops you. Everything we built around it, front and back, was held to a higher bar because of that one pattern.
From Vision to Reality
Design
Before anything came out, we mapped the whole property, front and back. The checkerboard and its inlay cuts had to be laid out to the piece so the pattern ran true, and we set the grades for where the retaining walls, steps, and landings would step down the slope.
Build
Demo came first, pulling the tired concrete off the front and back. Then the slow part: setting the hexagon pavers cut by cut so the checkerboard and its inlay lined up. With the field down, we built the fireplace and its two water features, stacked the lit walls, steps, and landings into the hillside, and finished out front by rebuilding the walkway and repouring the driveway with black stamped-concrete edges.
Enjoy
Out back, a yard Cindy will not find anywhere else. Out front, a walkway and driveway that turn heads before anyone reaches the door.
